9-42 meets Mike Exeter

The one where 9-42 meets Grammy Award winning Producer & Engineer Mike Exeter. Mike has worked with Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi, Judas Priest, Cradle of Filth & UB40, amongst many others.

We caught up with Mike at the Guitar Show back in early march, bundled him into a cloakroom and thrust a microphone in front of him.

Now he could have been a little perturbed by this, but being the kind & gentle soul that he is, he humoured us and shared an insight into his career and the artists he has worked with. He also talked about the effects his career had had on his mental well-being, and how he has learned to deal with that.

About the Podcast

9-42
The Guitar Show Podcast
9-42 is the podcast from the team behind The Guitar Show, the UK's biggest annual guitar event.

I'm Jason, and when I am not co-hosting this podcast I am trying to organise the next Guitar Show. The other co-host is Ant, we've known each other for years and he's the fella that pressured me in to doing this.

Each episode we will endeavour to bring you the stories behind the gear, to talk to the artists, the influencers and the manufacturers that keep us playing and loving the guitar.

I have been tinkering with audio since my mid-teens, recording songs & producing content for friends.

Post university I embraced the world of retail, firstly in supermarkets and later in & around the music instrument industry.

After 20 years or so, I took a sideways step into podcasting and began a venture called ashortstories, which helps in the development & production of podcasts for anyone that has a story to tell.
