The one where Ant chats to a chap he used to work in a music store with (who just happens to now play in Wishbone Ash...!)

For most people simply working in a guitar store at some point in their life would be enough, but then going on to own your own store would probably put you in the 'charmed life' category.

How about if you did all that, and then got the call from one of your biggest musical influences with the invitation to join the band, and go-on to tour the world?

By rights we should all hate Mark a little bit, but it's impossible because he is such a genuine fella - and one hell of a player. Join us as we explore his journey, talk about the future and then get proper nerdy about carry-on films.

9-42 is the podcast from the team behind The Guitar Show, the UK's biggest annual guitar event.

I'm Jason, and when I am not co-hosting this podcast I am trying to organise the next Guitar Show. The other co-host is Ant, we've known each other for years and he's the fella that pressured me in to doing this.

Each episode we will endeavour to bring you the stories behind the gear, to talk to the artists, the influencers and the manufacturers that keep us playing and loving the guitar.

I have been tinkering with audio since my mid-teens, recording songs & producing content for friends.

Post university I embraced the world of retail, firstly in supermarkets and later in & around the music instrument industry.

After 20 years or so, I took a sideways step into podcasting and began a venture called ashortstories, which helps in the development & production of podcasts for anyone that has a story to tell.
